826 EARTH

WHAT IS 826?

826 is a nonprofit organization that provides strategic leadership, administration, and other resources to ensure the success of its network of seven writing and tutoring centers. Their mission is based on the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

For every 826 location, there is a storefront modeling the city it is in.

THE PROJECT

We were all assigned a random city to model an 826 brand after.

I was assigned Queens, New York.

After some thorough research on the demographic of Queens, it was ever so present that diversity was an overlying theme of the borrough. I saw a very clear connection with the many cultures that live in Queens and the infinite galaxies and stars that exist in the universe.

826 Earth is a center location out of many in a fictional universe that I created. At this 826 location, beings throughout the universe can come to receive tutoring and creative writing help as well as purchasing an Earth-Aid to accommodate for their planetary deficiency that they need on Earth to survive. ( just as humans need space suits to survive in outer space )

In the Source System, (my universe) There are 5 types of beings that are known thus far in time.

PRIME Beings that do not require any planetary aid.

GRAVO Beings that do not need gravity on their given planet.

WATA Beings that require water to live.

DESO Beings that do not need oxygen.

OPAK Beings that do not need UV rays to live.

Based on my mythology, I arranged a narrative to go along with the story of student going through grades K-12. In this system, the planet types are separated in groups of grades to categorize the students in the 826 Earth Tutoring system. Starting at Wata Level, and ending at Prime Level gives the students a goal to finish their schooling and complete the journey to Earth which are       grades 11 & 12.
